Evelyn Fidler

Evelyn C. Fidler, 85, of Claysville, Pa. died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2004 in her home after being in failing health for the past three months.She was born April 13, 1919 in New Castle, Pa. a daughter of William and Grace Edmondson Warwick and had resided in Washington, Pa. prior to moving to the Claysville area in 1946.Mrs. Fidler has been a member of the Claysville United Methodist Church for over 50 years.She was a 1937 graduate of New Castle High School and graduated from the former Washington Beauty Academy in 1938.Mrs. Fidler was employed as a former meter maid in Claysville and was last employed as the caregiver to the late George White from 1973 until his death in 1986.She enjoyed crocheting and making baby booties and blankets.Mrs. Fidler was 50-year member of the Claysville American Legion Post 639 Auxiliary Unit.On February 17, 1940 she married James Alfred Fidler who died April 12, 1973.Surviving are two daughters, Grayce Klein and her husband Robert of Claysville and Barbara Garden and her husband Vince of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; one son, Richard J. Fidler and his wife Mary McConn Fidler of West Alexander, Pa. R.D.#2; nine grandchildren, Mike and Mark Klein, Christopher and Kim Garden, Kerri Garden Izzo, Heather Fidler Boone, Jeanette and J.R. Fidler, Christina Fidler Poggi; 16 great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, Fred D. Fidler who died July 30, 2002; two grandsons, James Earl "Jay" Fidler who died July 3, 2001 and Keith Alan Fidler who died July 26, 1978 in infancy; one brother, James H. Warwick; two sisters, Elizabeth Chamberlain and Christine Warwick.Mrs. Fidler was the last of her immediate family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Three Rivers Family Hospice, 3001 Jacks Run Rd., Empire Bldg, 2nd Floor, White Oak, Pa. 15131, the Claysville U.M. Church, PO Box 446, Claysville, Pa. 15323 or the Claysville V.F.D. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa.
