Obituary for Emily Santee
Emily Breeding Santee, 84, of Wind Ridge, Pa. died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2006 in Seabright's Personal Care Home, Rogersville, Pa. She was born January 11, 1922 in Marshall County, W.Va. a daughter of Charles Crow and Leota Jane Steele Mooney and had resided in Marshall County prior to moving to Wind Ridge in 1950Mrs. Santee was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church in Wind Ridge where she had previously served as an Elder, a former clerk of sessions, former Sunday school teacher and provided the church flowers every other month. She was a 1938 graduate of Cameron High School, (Cameron, W.Va). and earned her B.S. degree in 1943 and her Masters Degree in Home Economics in 1954, both from West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va.Mrs. Santee was last employed as a Home-Economics teacher at West Greene High School for 32 years prior to retiring in 1982. She was a member of the P.A.S.R and P.S.E.R.S. and the West Virginia University Alumni Association.She was a member of the Richhill Twp. V.F.D. Ladies Auxiliary where she formerly served as Chaplain. Mrs. Santee was married to Daniel Breeding who died in July 1946 and on December 24, 1955, she married Henry "Milt" Santee who died on March 12, 1990.Surviving are three sons, Richard L. Breeding of Wind Ridge, Pa. and Daniel L., husband of Kathleen Breeding of Chantilly, Va. and Byron, husband of Laura Santee of Alexandria, Ky.; one sister, Alberta, wife of Lawrence Gittings of Wheeling, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Amy Breeding, Angela, Frank, and James Santee; one great grandchild.Deceased in addition to her husbands is one sister, Margaret Day.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Harmony Presbyterian Church, PO Box 15, Wind Ridge, PA. 15380.
