Earl E. Schmoutz, 74, of Claysville, Pa. R.D.#2 (East Finley Township), died unexpectedly Friday, December 12, 2003 at his home.He was born June 22, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pa. a son of William Henry Schmoutz, Sr. and Laura Riehl Schmoutz.Mr. Schmoutz was a former resident of Peters Township and has resided in East Finley Township, Washington County, Pa. since 1961.He was Protestant.Mr. Schmoutz was a member of the Sheep and Wool Growers Association, the Pittsburgh Home Builders Association and the Cattleman's Association of Washington County.He served on the McGuffey School Board for ten years.Mr. Schmoutz was a co-owner of E J Builders of Green Tree for over 20 years prior to retiring in 1992.He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served with the U.S. Army.Mr. Schmoutz was 1948 graduate of Carrick High School.On July 18, 1953 he married Grace Fanzo Schmoutz who survives.Also surviving are a son, Eric Schmoutz of Littleton, CO.; a daughter, Karen Schmoutz of Lexington, KY; three brothers, Walter Schmoutz of Shelby, N.C., William H. Schmoutz, Jr. of Cecil, Pa. and Melvin Schmoutz of Pleasant Hills, Pa.; two sisters, Audrey Sullivan of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Elaine Spin of Gorley, Alabama; a grandson, Alex J. Schmoutz.Deceased are a sister, Dorothy Fry and a brother, Donald Schmoutz.
