E. Shipman

E. Irene Roberts Shipman, 84, formerly of Jefferson, Pa. died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past several years.She was born March 18, 1928 in Richhill Twp. (Enon), Greene County, Pa. a daughter of the late Hiram and Mary Reisabelle Dunn Roberts and had resided in the Jefferson area most of her life.Mrs. Shipman was a former member of the Jefferson American Legion Auxiliary.She enjoyed playing bingo, word puzzles and playing cards (500).Mrs. Shipman was last employed as a counterperson in the central supply department of Washington Hospital for several years.Surviving are two daughters, Vicky, wife of Daryl Chaney of Jackson Twp. and Dawn Yeager of Waynesburg; a son, Charles Roberts, companion of Kim Calai of Warren, Ohio; a brother, F. Wilson, husband of Betty Roberts of Streetsboro, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents are a grandson, Marquis Allen Chaney; a brother, Harry Roberts; a sister, Jean Roberts.
