Doyle K."Buck" Hughes, 84, of Center Twp. Greene Co. Pa. died at 12 noon Thursday, April 30, 2009 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg of a cancer related illness.He was born August 20, 1924 in Aleppo Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a son of John Madison and Anna Hoge Hughes and has been a resident of Center Twp. since 1961.Mr. Hughes enjoyed the time spent on his farm and farm equipment and the time with his pet dog, Rusty.He was employed for 40 years as an equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 in Pittsburgh prior to retiring in 1986.On March 3, 1950 he married Evelyn Joan Hull who survives.Also surviving are six sons, Edward, husband of Peggy Hughes of Sycamore, Gary, husband of Denise Hughes of Langloth, Michael Hughes of Holbrook, David Hughes of Waynesburg, Brian, husband of Lena Hughes of Rogersville and Mark, husband of Jennifer Hughes of Rivesville, W.Va.; three daughters, Jeanie, wife of Keith Blake of Carmichaels, Penny Hughes of Holbrook and Barbara, wife of Floyd Rasel of Orlando, Fl.; 10 grandchildren, Tammy Rasal Ogram, Shawn Rasel, Melissa, Marcie, Kenneth, Dillon, Patrick and Tucker Hughes, Jaimie Edwards and Ryan Blake; 11 great grandchildren.Deceased are two grandchildren, Joshua David and Colton Lane Hughes; five brothers, Dwayne, Wilber and Carl Hughes and 2 brothers who died in infancy; two sisters, Helena Grim and Marjorie Frye.Mr. Hughes was the last of his immediate family.At the request of the deceased there will be public visitation or funeral service. All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
