Dorothy Mounts Miller, 89, of Claysville, Pa. died at 4:00 a.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010, in The Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. following a brief illness surrounded by her family.She was born August 30, 1920, in Buffalo Twp. Washington Co. Pa. the only daughter among 5 brothers, of Robert Edward and Mabel Reed Patterson Mounts.Mrs. Miller was raised and lived in Buffalo Township most of her life where she was a former member of the Buffalo Grange, and where she met her future husband and was also a former member of the Christian Endeavor. She was a 50 year member of the Claysville United Presbyterian Church where she had served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.Mrs. Miller was a 1938 graduate of Trinity High School and a 1939 graduate of Penn Commercial Business College.She was a former employee in the office of Trinity High School and in the payroll office of the former Duncan and Miller Glass Company.Mrs. Miller was the former co-owner and operator (with her husband) of the former Kenny Miller Esso on Rt 40 and the Kenny Miller Exxon station at Exit 3,(Taylorstown)Rt. 70 from 1950 until retiring in 1972.On March 22, 1947 she married W. Kenneth (Kenny) Miller who died September 15, 1996.Surviving are two sons, Richard, husband of Kathy Miller of Washington and Ronald, husband of Renee Miller of Lock Haven, Pa.; a daughter, Jeanne, wife of Javier Rodriguez of Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren, Amy Miller Dehan and Stephen Miller, Ryan and Andrea Rodriguez, and Emily Hawkins Shultz; four great grandchildren, Audrey and Caitlyn Dehan and Layne and Everett Miller; two brothers, Harold, husband of Norma Mounts and Glenn, husband of Carol Ann Mounts both of Washington; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are three brothers, R. Lester, Frank and Wray Mounts.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Claysville United Presbyterian Church, PO Box 496, Claysville, Pa. 15323.
