Dorothy Harvey

Dorothy G. Harvey, 82, of Center Twp., (Near Rutan) Greene Co., Pa. died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in Seabright's Personal Care Home, Rogersville, Pa. after being seriously ill for the past two weeks. She was born January 3, 1924 in Center Twp., Greene Co., Pa. a daughter of Guy L. and Anna Mae Clutter Goodwin and had resided in Sycamore prior to moving to Center Twp. in 2000.Mrs. Harvey was a member of the former South Ten Mile Baptist Church and a 1942 graduate of Center Twp. High School.She was an employee of the former Greenway Shirt Factory in Jefferson and was last employed in the shipping and receiving department with J.C. Penny Co. in Washington prior to retiring.Mrs. Harvey was a member of Harvey's Grange #1444, the West Greene Senior Citizens and enjoyed traveling the world, gardening and sewing.On January 15, 1947, she married Charles E. (Bake) Forshey who died on July 17, 1979 and on June 3, 2000 she married Samuel H. Harvey who survives.Surviving in addition to her husband are two step sons, Robert D. Harvey of Carlisle, Pa. and Samuel J., husband of Kitty Harvey of Cardington, Oh.; three step grandchildren, David S., Gavin M. and Bree Anne Harvey; five step great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ruth, wife of Joseph Patterson of New Port Richey, Fl.; two brothers, Ralph, husband of Carol Dean Goodwin and Raymond, husband of Ruth Ann Goodwin, all of Center Twp.; several nieces and nephews.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society 197 West Strawberry Street, Waynesburg, Pa. 15370 or to your charity of choice.
