Doris E. Brownlee, 89, of Claysville, Pa. died at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in Breeses Personal Care Home, Claysville after being in failing health for the past several years. She was born December 7, 1924 in West Finley Twp. (Beham), Washington County, Pa. a daughter of the late William Earl and Emma Blanche Ullom Dague. Mrs. Brownlee had resided in the Claysville area for 50 years prior to moving to Elm Grove, W.Va. where she resided for seventeen years, returning to Claysville in 2013. She was a member of the Dallas (W.Va.) United Methodist Church and a 1942 graduate of the former West Alexander (Pa.) High School. Mrs. Brownlee dearly loved and enjoyed her family. On December 25, 1946 she married Wilbur Harold (Bub) Brownlee who died September 6, 1989. Surviving are a son, W. Neil, husband of Nancy Brownlee of Claysville; three grandchildren, Michael, husband of Karyn Brownlee of Los Angeles, CA., Seth, husband of Carina Brownlee of Bath, Ohio and Megan, wife of Aaron Alexander of Marion, Ohio; seven great grandchildren, Braiden Alexander, Cole, Lydia, Norah, Leo, Elliot and Dashiell Brownlee; several nieces and two nephews.; her special friend of 17 years, Robert Galentine of Wheeling, W.Va. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, Gregory Jay Brownlee who died in 1982; a sister, Gail Dague who died in infancy; six brothers, Guy, Ronald, Robert, Paul, Keith and Ralph Dague. At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing or funeral service. Private graveside services will be held in the Claysville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A public memorial service at the Dallas (W.Va.) U.M. Church will be announced at a later date.
