Donald Carroll Jr

Donald L. Carroll, Jr., 77, of Nineveh, Pa. died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 3:12 a.m. in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, emergency room in Waynesburg after a six week illness. He was born April 23, 1931 in Nineveh a son of Donald Lee Carroll, Sr. and Clara Edith Shaw Carroll and had resided in the Nineveh area all his life. Mr. Carroll was a member and former trustee of the Nineveh United Methodist Church. He attended Waynesburg High School. He was a former member of the Morris Twp. (Greene Co.) V.F.D. and was an avid hunter as long as his health permitted. Mr. Carroll was employed as a machine operator/supervisor for 30 years at the former Brockway Glass Company, Plant #7 in Washington prior to retiring in 1984 and later served two terms as a Morris Twp. road supervisor prior to retiring in 1994. On August 8, 1954 he married Norma June Hammett who died October 21, 2001. Surviving are a son, Randy L. Carroll and a daughter, Diana Lynn Hewitt both of Nineveh; four granddaughters Amy, Samantha, Jessica and Rachel Hewitt. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are four sisters, Donnella Carroll, Mary Cole, twins Pauline Baldwin and Helene Anderson. Mr. Carroll was the last of his immediate family.
