Dennis E. Phillips, 51, of New Freeport, Pa. died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past several years. He was born April 8, 1961 in Waynesburg a son of Ethel Iona Morris Phillips of Holbrook and the late Frederick Earl Phillips.Mr. Phillips formerly attended the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church at Holbrook.He had resided in the state of Virginia and Jackson Twp. for several years prior to moving to Freeport Twp. in 2006.Mr. Phillips was an employee of the former Golden Corral restaurant in Waynesburg, and a construction worker in Virginia prior to being employed by the former Nabisco plant in Washington, Pa. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid automobile enthusiast.On July 27, 2000 he married Jenny Lynn Barnhart who survives.Also surviving in addition to his mother and his wife are, five daughters, Samantha, wife of Shane Morris of Fairport, Ohio, Misty, wife of Zachary Dane of Holbrook, Kelly, wife of Daniel Whitlatch of Sycamore, Diana Phillips of Richmond, IN. and Amber, wife of Billy Whitlatch of Waynesburg(Eastview); a son, Dennis E. (DJ) Phillips, Jr. at home; several grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Phillips of Waynesburg and Russell Phillips of Holbrook; four sisters, Debbie Phillips of Holbrook, Donna, wife of John Carter of Waynesburg, Bonnie Phillips of Brave and Michelle, wife of Jason Litton of Waynesburg; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his father is a daughter, Yvonne Lynn Phillips who died in infancy.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rush Funeral Home, Inc., PO Box 388, Rogersville, Pa. 15359.
