Daniel Riggs

Daniel R. Riggs, 53, of Springhill Twp. Greene Co. Pa., and formerly of Waynesburg died unexpectedly at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in his home.He was born September 30, 1957 in San Diego, CA. a son of Lois Westmoreland Riggs of Waynesburg and the late Joseph Ellsworth Riggs.Mr. Riggs had resided in Waynesburg area most of his life prior to moving to the Springhill and Gilmore Twp. areas in the late 70's.He was a 1975 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School.Mr. Riggs enjoyed muskie fishing and traveling to Canada.He was a former co-owner of the Joe Riggs Sporting Goods store in Waynesburg prior to being employed by the U.S. Postal Service where he was currently serving as the Postmaster in Littleton, W.Va.On September 29, 1997 he married WendiLee Johnstone who survives.Also surviving in addition to his mother and wife is a step son, Trey Tatro of Boca Raton, Fl.; a brother, Joseph (Jay) Riggs III and a sister, Robyn Dayton both of Waynesburg; two nephews and one niece.All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
