Clyde D. Main, Sr.

Clyde D. Main, Sr., age 90, of Rogersville, PA, passed away with his family by his side Friday, May 26, 2017 at Rolling Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation, Waynesburg, PA.

Born October 6, 1926, in Jollytown, PA, he is the son of the late Arthur Ray and Toilie (Moniger) Main.

Clyde has been a resident of Greene County his entire life. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Rogersville United Methodist Church and Fairview United Methodist Church. Clyde was a very hard worker and had multiple jobs over the years. He was employed by Aliquippa Steel Mill, Jack Williams Construction, Moyers Construction and Penn Dot, where he retired from in 1988.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythians in Pine Bank. Clyde was also a firefighter and charter member of the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department. Clyde loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing and working in his garden. After retirement, he enjoyed wood working in his garage. He was big on family and loved to be with them every chance he got.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruby C. Main, who he married on June 21, 1952; his children, Clyde D. (Leona) Main, Jr. of Fredricktown, PA and Debra J. (Timothy) Dulany of Waynesburg, PA.; six grandchildren, Amanda Varner, Michael L. Main, Angela (Hughes) Gipson, Nicholas Hughes, Shawn Dulany, and Nicole Lewis; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn E. Hennen; six brothers, Kenneth R. Main, H. Everette Main, Arthur R. Main, Jr., Joseph M. Main, Charles D. Main and Donald E. Main.

Friends will be received Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. with a fireman’s service at 6:30 p.m. at the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Nelson Boone, officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Fairview Cemetery, Graysville, PA.
