Clifford S. "Pip" McAdoo, 90, of Washington, Pa. died at 5:10 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2006 in the Donnell House, Washington, Pa. He was born June 1, 1916 in West Alexander a son of Allen and Margaret Simpson McBroom McAdoo and had resided in West Alexander all of his life prior to moving to Washington in 1966.Mr. McAdoo was a member and former trustee of the West Alexander United Methodist Church and had attended the former West Alexander High School. He was a former construction worker and was last employed by the former Jessop Steel in Washington for 37 years prior to retiring in 1979. Mr. McAdoo enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and playing baseball and was a former member of the West Alexander American Legion baseball team. On November 9, 1938, he married Virginia E. Clark who survives.Also surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Ray, husband of Karen Hazen McAdoo of Fayetteville, Ga.; two daughters, Beverly, wife of Ken Campbell of Washington and Sharon Roby of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Ross McAdoo of West Alexander; one sister, Adaline Hilliard of Westerville, Oh.; eight grandchildren, Alan and Jerry Midcap, Alicia Howard, Cynthia McClosky, Eric and Brenda Roby, Jed and Julie McAdoo; and eight great grandchildren.Deceased are four brothers, Fred, Orville, Bill and Gene McAdoo; five sisters, Bernice Thompson, Elizabeth Sutherland, Ethel Allen, Alma Whitehead and Mildred Carmen.The familyl suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society or the Donnell House, c/o Hospice of The Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. 15301
