Clifford E. Amos, 78, of Jefferson, Pa. and formerly of Wind Ridge, Pa. died at 3:10 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in WVU Hospitals, Inc., ( Ruby Memorial), Morgantown, W.Va., after a six week cancer related illness.He was born April 13, 1934 in Richhill Twp. (Enon), Greene Co., Pa. a son of the late George Wesley (Pete) and Wilma Jessie Toland Amos and had resided in the Richhill Twp. area most of his life.Mr. Amos attended the former Richhill Twp. High School in Wind Ridge.He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and had earned the Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medals and was a member of the American Legion Post 330 in Waynesburg.Mr. Amos was the operator of the former Cliff's Delaware Inn, in Amity, an employee of the former Galion Iron Works in Galion, OH., he was a butcher for the former State Food Store., and a bartender at the former Van's Hotel and Restaurant both in Cameron, W.Va., and for over 45 years was a self-employed independent truck driver prior to his last employment with Burns Drilling, retiring in 2010.On June 26, 1959 he married Betty Jo (Jodi) McCardle of Waynesburg who survives.Also surviving are his children, Eric, husband of Lorri Amos of Wind Ridge, Pa., Sharon and Leigh Ann Amos, and Laura Grim all of Waynesburg, Regina Amos of Wind Ridge( Ryerson Station), Alexander Amos of Carmichaels; special friend, Lucretia Ealy (mother of Alexander) of Carmichaels; four grandchildren, Gina McDiffitt, Travis McFadden, Clinton Amos and Andrew Grim; two great grandchildren, Destiny and Haven Statler; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his parents are three brothers, Glenn, Wesley (Jr.), and Carl Amos.
