Clarence Eugene Davis, 66, of East Finley Twp. (Pleasant Grove), Washington County, Pa. died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 in his home after being in failing health for the past two years, his death was unexpected. He was born September 28, 1941 in Short Creek, W.Va. a son of the late Lee Roy and Beulah Maye Toland Davis and had resided in East Finley Twp. most of his life. Mr. Davis was last employed as a heavy equipment operator for PennDot for 30 years prior to retiring in 1995. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, watching birds and time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. On June 3, 1972, he married Lois Jean Roberts Davis who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Bradley L., husband of Melissa Davis and Brian E., husband of Shirley Davis; one daughter, Beth A., wife of Ray Shriver, all of Claysville; four grandchildren, Dalton and Mason Shriver, Jordan Davis and Olivia M. Plymire; seven brothers, Ferris Davis, John, husband of Alta Davis, Archie, husband of Ruth Davis, Clyde, husband of Sarah Davis, Jim, husband of Linda Davis, and Joseph, husband of Cathy Davis, all of Pleasant Grove; three sisters, Sara Lilley, Elsie, wife of Bill Shumucher, both of Pleasant Grove and Shirley, wife of Bill Stinger of Dallas, W.Va. Deceased is his brother Randall Davis. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, in Claysville Christian Church, Claysville Pa. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2007 with Rev. Bruce Graff officiating and Rev. Meade Lacock assisting. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, East Finley Twp.
