Charles Tedrow

Charles E. Tedrow, 84 of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Spraggs, Pa., died at 4:47 A.M. on Saturday, August 15, 2009 in the Golden Living Center, Waynesburg after a lengthy illness. He was born August 1, 1925 in Eastview (Franklin Township), Greene County, Pa., a son of the late Harrison and Mildred (Bissett) Tedrow. Mr. Tedrow served as a Military Policeman in the U. S. Army during World War II and resided in Greene County nearly all of his life. He was employed by Wayne Town-ship in Greene County for a number of years before serving as a Wayne Township Supervisor from 1981 until 1986. Mr. Tedrow was last employed at Greene ARC, Inc. for 10 years. He was a 20 year member of the Eagles Club No. 498 in Waynesburg where he served as president for five years. Mr. Tedrow coached softball for many years in Waynesburg and enjoyed hunting and playing horse-shoes. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. On April 25, 1986, he married Gladys M. Wise, who died in 1991.Surviving are two sons, Charles H. Tedrow and his wife, Amy of Waynesburg and Carl E. Te-drow of Blacksville, W. Va.; a daughter, Mary E. Tedrow of Carmichaels, Pa.; a stepson, Glenn A. Wise and his wife, Jean of Spraggs; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Harrison "Swamp" Tedrow of Waynesburg; three sisters, Marge Reagan and Bessie Tedrow, both of Waynes-burg and Patty Basinger and her husband, Bob of Ruff Creek, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
