Charles Mahan

Charles E. Mahan, 61, of West Alexander, Pa. died at 1:55 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2004 in his home. He was born May 19, 1943 in Washington, Pa. a son of the late Charles Burdette Mahan and Mildred Raymer Mahan Bedillion and had resided in Donegal Township and West Alexander area all his life. Mr. Mahan was a member of the West Alexander Christian Church and a 1961 graduate of McGuffey High School. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, woodworking and antique cars. Mr. Mahan was the owner and operator of the former Donegal Contracting Company and was employed by the former McAnallen Brothers Construction as a superintendent for approximately 30 years and was last employed as a project coordinator for U.P.M.C in Pittsburgh. On November 2, 1989 he married Joyce Ann Hewitt Mahan who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Kandy Dunn and her husband Michael, Ginger Arbogast and her husband Mitchell both of Cameron, W.Va. and Mary Ann Duff and and her husband D.J. of West Alexander; seven grandchildren, Clifford, Cinnamon and Jasper Arbogast, Chandra and Jared Dunn, Jim and Beth Ann Duff; one brother, Gary Mahan of Wheeling, W.Va.; four sisters, Theda Church and her husband Lonnie of Triadelphia, W.Va., Rose Omps and her husband Voyne of Columbia Station, Ohio, Patty Fordyce and her husband Clifford, Sr. of West Alexander and Kay Dillie and her husband Bill of Claysville; two step sisters, Mary Jane Bedillion Boyle and her husband Don of Claysville, Ruth Bedillion Dorsey and her husband Vance of East Finley; two step brothers, Lee Bedillion and his wife Shirley of West Alexander and Ernie Bedillion and his wife Sandy of East Finley.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.Arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa.
