Charles W. Barnhart, 75, formerly of Washington, Pa. died at 1:35 p.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2007 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg. He was born November 26, 1931 in Wind Ridge, Pa. a son of John Stephen and Anna Luella Ostrander Barnhart and has resided in the Washington, Pa. area most of his adult life. Mr. Barnhart was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Corporal and was a member of the American Legion Post #330 and the V.F.W. Post #4793, both of Waynesburg, Pa. He last employed as a maintenance man for the former Tri State Engineering Co. in Washington for 32 years prior to retiring in 1990. Mr. Barnhart enjoyed hunting, fishing and auto repair. Surviving are three brothers, George E., husband of Nancy Bennett Barnhart of Prosperity, John Kenneth, husband of Shirley Chadwick Barnhart of Waynesburg and Charles, husband of Loretta Rush Koscheck of Sycamore; two sisters, Edith, wife of James Briggs of Orrville, Oh. and Wilma, wife of Herschel Hupp of Washington, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Joseph and James Barnhart.Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to time of services, 1 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc., Rogersville, Pa. where services will be held. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Twp. Graveside military rites will be accorded by representatives of the U.S. Army, and the American Legion Post #330, V.F.W. Post #4793 and the D.A.V. Post #123, all of Waynesburg, Pa.
