C. Davis

C. Donald Davis, 85, of West Alexander, Pa. died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 in the Peterson Hospital and Rehab Center, Wheeling, W. Va. following a brief illness. He was born April 4, 1923 in Wheeling, W.Va. a son of Claire (Pete) and Gertrude Donaldson Hanna Davis and has been a resident of the West Alexander area all his life. Mr. Davis was a member of the West Alexander Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed watching the wild animals that wondered his property. Mr. Davis was a veteran of World War II where he served with the U.S. Army as a Tech 3 with the Detachment Medical Department, 1387th Service Command Unit and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater and World War II Victory Ribbons. He was a self employed contractor all his working life prior to retiring in 1995. On January 2, 1953 he married Betty Jean Dixon who survives. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Jack and Robert Davis. He was the last of his immediate family.
