Boyd W. Ealy, 88, of Claysville, Pa. died at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in his home after being seriously ill since January.He was born October 22, 1922 in Donegal Twp. a son of the late Charles Lee and Clara Louanna Wise Ealy and had resided in the Claysville area all his life.Mr. Ealy was a member and former trustee of the Claysville United Methodist Church and was a part of the remodeling committee of the church in 1960.He was a 1940 graduate of Claysville High SchoolMr. Ealy was an honorary member of the Claysville V.F.D., and associate member of the Claysville American Legion Post 639 and a member of the steel workers union of the former Jessop Steel Corp.He formerly worked with the late Ken Brownlee in pipeline construction, the B O Railroad and was employed by the late T.G. Walker as a truck driver for 25 years, the Steel City Truck Service in Triadelphia, and the former O.W. Wilkerson Construction Co. prior to being employed as a machine operator by the former Jessop Steel Corp. for 20 years prior to retiring in 1985.Mr. Ealy was the foundation of his family, assisting them in all of their endeavors, including assisting with the family trophy business for the past 20 years, and he enjoyed reminiscing and taking family and friends on country road trips over Greene Co., and special memories of fall hunting trips to Center Co. and the former Squaw Hollow Hunt Club, and was a volunteer with meals-on-wheels, and was an avid baseball player in the Methodist Church baseball league in his earlier years.On January 20, 1944 he married Kathryn Elizabeth Clutter who died September 28, 2007.Surviving is a son, Charles B., husband of Charmaine Litman Ealy of Claysville; two grandchildren, Charles B. Ealy, II and Melissa LouAnn, wife of Shawn Stagon; five great grandchildren, Gracie Clara and Addie Kathryn Stagon, Chloe Elizabeth, Evan Charles and Aaron Boyd Ealy.Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are a sister, Goldie Walker and his step-mother, Myrtle Carroll Wise Ealy.He was the last of his immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Claysville U.M. Church, 1279 Rt. 40 West, Claysville, Pa. 15323.
