Blanche Moniger

Blanche O. "Peggy" Moniger, 83, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Graysville and Rogersville, Pa. died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2003 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home after being in failing health for the past several years.She was born September 17, 1920 in Proctor, W.Va. a daughter of Henry Isaac and Virginia Louise Horner Yoho.Mrs. Moniger was a member of the Rogersville United Methodist Church.She was employed as a waitress at the former Jarvis Restaurant in Rogersville and Albert's Restaurant in Waynesburg, and was also employed as a babysitter and house cleaner in the local Greene County area.Mrs. Moniger enjoyed quilting, crocheting and the time she spent with her grandchildren.One March 19, 1945 she married Melvin Burdett Moniger who died July 2, 1983.Surviving are two daughters, Kathryn Newman of Graysville, Pa. and Mae Thomas of Waynesburg; two sons, Kenneth Moniger of Smithfield, Pa. and Dennis Moniger of Tionesta, Pa.; one sister, Ruth Michaels of Proctor, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Crystal Shultz, Brian and Adrian and Amy Sue Moniger, Robert and Tracy Thomas; one step grandson, Rob Thomas; two step granddaughters, Chris Corwin and Carolyn Fox; three great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to her husband are six sisters, Roxie Frymire, Faye Watson, Lucy Blake, Esta Hennen, Violet and Velma Yoho; two brothers, Arthur and Arley Yoho.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Action Southwest, 1505 Morris St., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.
