Betty Chapman

Betty Dale Chapman, 84, formerly of Richhill Twp. Greene Co. Pa. died a 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Waynesburg after being in failing health for the past several years.She was born March 22, 1927 in Richhill Twp. a daughter of the late Clarence Samuel and Zora Rae Smith Jones.Mrs. Chapman resided in Indianapolis, IN. from 1945 until returning to Greene County in 1954.She was a member and former Sunday school treasurer at the Fairview United Methodist Church in Richhill Twp. and was a 1944 graduate of the former Richhill Twp. High School in Wind Ridge.Mrs. Chapman enjoyed baking pies for many different community events.On November 27, 1947 she married Edwin Clay Chapman who died April 17, 1993.Surviving are a son, Michael Dale, husband of Tabatha Chapman of Richhill Twp.; two daughters, Sandra Kay Jacobs of Waynesburg and Bonnie Jean, wife of Clayton Martin of Mt. Morris; a brother, Joseph Reed Jones and a sister, Faye Jones, both of Waynesburg; eight grandchildren, Ronald W. and Donald D. Jacobs, Amy Swaniger-Eaton, Zora Swaniger Policz, Jeremy L. Swaniger, Joshua C. and Joseph Michael Chapman, and Travis Tharp; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are, a son, Edwin Dale Chapman; two daughters, Patty Jane and Martha Sue Chapman; two great grandchildren, Kristie Marie Jacobs and Nathaniel Cecil Clay Jacobs; five brothers, Arthur, Harry, Keith, Delbert and Hubert Jones; one sister, Margery Jean Jones,
