Bertha Scherich

Bertha Lillian Scherich, 84, of West Finley R.D. #2, died at 8:56 p.m. Thurssday, October 21, 2004 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg. She was born February 14, 1920 in Wolf Run, West Virginia, the daughter of Earnest and Sarah Taylor Minor. Mrs. Scherich enjoyed baking for family and the farmhands. She was a member of the Nebo United Methodist Church and Women's Society of Christian Service.On November 12, 1938 she married Forest Ray Scherich who died April 7, 1993. Also surviving are five daughters, Sharon, wife of Lawrence Dobbs, Judy, wife of Charles Holtz, both of Cameron, W.Va., Nova, wife of Ron LeMahieu of Marysville, ILL., Cathy, wife of Scott Ross of Dallas, W.Va. and Nancy, wife of Larry Whyte of Sycamore, Pa. ; six grandchildren, Catherine Holtz, Gary, Shawn, and Justin Whyte, Travis and Stephanie Ross; two sisters, Mabel Pettit of Cameron, W. Va. and Edith Smith of N.C. Deceased in addition to her husband are two grandsons, Jason and Stephen Ross; two sisters, Ethel Reed and Ester Scherich; two brothers, Herman and Raymond Minor.
