Benjamin A. Tate

Benjamin A. Tate, age 61, of Waynesburg, PA, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 in his home surrounded by loved ones.

Born December 20, 1955 in Waynesburg, PA, he is the son of the late Robert and Pearl (Suttle) Tate.

Mr. Tate graduated in 1973 from Jefferson Morgan High school. He retired from John Howard Auto Sales after 20 years of service and then worked for Walmart until in 2016. He was a 20 year member of the Waynesburg American Legion Post # 330. His hobbies included fishing and working on his automobiles.

He married Audrey (Moore) Tate who preceded him in death on January 22, 2011. Together they had two children, Jason (Amanda) Tate of Amity, PA and Amanda (Jake) Payton of Fairview, WV.

In addition to his children, he is survived by his siblings, Donald (Patti) Tate, Betty Kelly, Edith Basile, Grace Booth and Patricia. Mr. Tate had 4 grandchildren, Jaden, Blake and Bryson Tate and Kaytie Payton. He had many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and William Tate and a sister, Florence Filbey.
