Audrey Tate

Audrey A. Tate, 53, of Morgan Twp. and formerly of Kuhntown, Greene Co. Pa. died at 11:59 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. after being seriously ill since May.She was born June 29, 1957 in Waynesburg, Pa. a daughter of the late Perry Moore, Jr. and Helen Margaret Whipkey Moore.Mrs. Tate had resided in Kuhntown (Wayne Twp.) all her life prior to moving to Morgan Twp. in September.She was a member of the Waynesburg American Legion Post 330 Auxiliary and was a 1976 graduate of Waynesburg High School.Mrs. Tate was employed by the former Greenway Mfg. Co. and the BP service station, both in Waynesburg prior to being employed as a cashier by Giant Eagle in Waynesburg for approximately eight years before retiring in 2010.On August 31, 1985 she married Benjamin Alan Tate who survives.Also surviving are a son, Jason, husband of Amanda Tate of Crucible and a daughter, Amanda, wife of Jake Payton of Fairview, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Katie Lynne Payton; two brothers, Perry Richard, husband of Susan Moore of Spraggs and Robert, husband of Vickie Moore of Kuhntown; three sisters, Deborah Wilkerson of Sycamore, Clara (Sis), wife of Sam Crawford of Lippencott and Donna, wife of Richard Isaac of Rittman, Ohio; a foster brother, James, husband of Cathy Carpenter of Waynesburg; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents is a brother, William Stephen Moore and a sister, Connie Sue Moore.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Audrey Hope fund, c/o of any branch of the Community Bank.
