Ann Richmond, 85, of Waynesburg, Pa. R.D.#4 (Oak Forest) died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, April 4, 2004 in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg after being in failing health for the past several years.She was born November 11, 1918 in Oak Forest a daughter of Charles Winfield and Iva Victoria Huffman Kerr.Mrs. Richmond had resided in the Oak Forest area most of her life with the exception of residing in Ohio from 1965 until returning to the Oak Forest area in 1976. She was a member of the Pursley Baptist Church in Oak Forest where she served on the Women's Missionary Society.Mrs. Richmond was employed while residing in Ohio as snack bar manager at the King Dept. Store in Alliance, an employee of the Royal China Company in Sebring and a co-manager of the William Risman Apartment Complexes in Cleveland, and was a former employee of Cameron Clay Products in Cameron, W.Va.She and her late husband owned and operated the Oak Forest General Store from 1953 until 1959, and was a former employee of Krency's Bakery in Waynesburg.Mrs. Richmond was last employed as a clerk at the former Arbor Terrace Bowling Lanes in Waynesburg for over 10 years prior to retiring in 1992 and had served as a Wayne township auditor from 1988 until 2001.On February 23, 1939 she married Oscar Harold Richmond who died January 18, 1988.Surviving are three daughters, Vicki McHenry of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Ruth Ann Tewell of Waynesburg and Brenda J. Cole of Oak Forest; one brother, Floyd C. (Chod) Kerr of Berlin Heights, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Pam Kiger, Joyce Hopkins, David Cole, Paula Duvall, Michele McHenry, Craig Tewell and Julie Hopkins; eight great grandchildren, Jonathan and Trent Hopkins, Kayla and Kenneth Duvall, Tristan and Hannah Cole, Beata Tewell and Ian Hopkins. Deceased are two brothers, Samuel W. and Harry R. Kerr.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the Pursley Baptist Church, c/o 1478 Oak Forest Rd., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.
