Allen L. "Shorty" Antill, 69, of Waynesburg, Pa. died unexpectedly at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012 in WVU Hospitals, Inc. (Ruby Memorial Hospital), Morgantown, W.Va. after suffering a stroke on Saturday.He was born November 15, 1942 in Aleppo Twp. Greene County, Pa. a son of the late Ralph Edward and Jean Kathleen Bissett Antill.Mr. Antill had resided in Aleppo Twp. most of his life prior to moving to the Waynesburg area in 1970.He was a member of the Cameron(W. Va.)Christian Church, but had been attending and serving as the church treasurer of the Greene Community Church in Waynesburg for the past several years.Mr. Antill attended West Greene High School where he starred in track field as a runner and hurdler.He enjoyed traveling, camping and trail (horse) riding in the Pa., W.Va. and Ohio areas, farming and his pets and animals in general, and leaves behind his dog(cricket), his Tennessee Walker(Ranger) and his mule(Jenny).Mr. Antill was formerly self employed as an owner/operator of a Carnation Milk truck, a laborer with a pipeline cleaning company in Pittsburgh and several trucking companies, and was last employed as a truck driver for Select Service in 84, Pa. for several years prior to retiring in November 2000.On March 4, 1970 he married Vicki Taylor who survives.Also surviving are a son, Todd Antill of Ravenna, Ohio and a daughter, Tina, wife of George Keener of Waynesburg; two grandchildren, Geo and Max Keener; a brother, Victor, husband of Nancy Antill of Aleppo; two sisters, Betty R. Forman, companion of Mark E. Moore of Salmon, Idaho and Shirley, wife of George Dvorcek of Wheeling, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cowboy Church Network, c/o Greene Community Church, PO Box 408, Waynesburg, Pa. 15370 or the Greene County Humane Society.
