Robert T. Johnson

Robert T. Johnson, age 92. of Waynesburg, PA, passed away at the Washington Hospital, Washington, PA., on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

Born on July 22, 1924, in Waynesburg, PA, he is the son of the late George and Mary (Thomas) Johnson.

Robert graduated in 1942 from Waynesburg High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 earning a WWII Theatre of War Medal. Robert was a proud member of the 572 Anti-Aircraft Battalion and attended their annual reunions.

Husband of 70 years to Betty R. (Day) Johnson, of Waynesburg, PA; father of David R. (Sandy) Johnson and Dana R. (Robert) Johnson, both of Waynesburg, PA; brother-in-law of, Vonnie Day; uncle of, Jim Johnson, Tom Day, Jerry Johnson, Jeff Day, Brad Day, Pam Winters and Sharon Grossman; he will also be missed by Pete and Charlene Stofcheck and his great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason Stofcheck.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jane Thompson and Lois Johnson; nephew, Alan Thompson.

Friends will be received on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA. 15359. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Donald Wilson, officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Greene County Memorial Park, Jefferson, PA.
