Bernice M. Kolvek

Bernice M. “Millie” Kolvek, age 81, of Center Township, PA, passed away at home on Monday, August 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James and Arminda (Wyland) Criss.

Millie graduated in 1953 from German Twp. High School. She was employed with Greene County Memorial Hospital as a Nurses Assistant for 37 years until she retired in 2002. Millie was a Greene County resident for most of her life. She was a member of the Willow Grove Independent Baptist Church. Millie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Waynesburg V.F.W. Post #4793. She enjoyed Seek & Find puzzle books and adult coloring books. Her family considered her to be a “foodie”, she loved going to Dairy Queen and out to eat. Millie also loved traveling the country. Her favorite past time was sitting on her porch watching for deer. Millie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished the moments she had with them. Millie will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Main, of Waynesburg, PA, Shari (Mark) Durbin, Sr., of Waynesburg, PA and Jill Amos, of Canonsburg, PA; six grandchildren, Arminda “Mindy” (Nicholas) Palone, of Waynesburg, PA, Randi Beth (Robert) Inmon, of Waynesburg, PA, Mark (Elizabeth) Durbin, Jr., of Waynesburg, PA, Jacob Main, of Waynesburg, PA, Jessica Amos, of Graysville, PA and Joel (Megan) Main, of Waynesburg, PA and 10 great grandchildren, Madison Palone, Lily Palone, Ariana Palone, Nicholas Palone, Luke Palone, Avaleigh Palone, Mark Durbin III, Kaydee Gooden, Mason Inmon and Ellie Inmon.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Beau” Kolvek; one daughter, Debbie Richter and one brother, George T. Criss.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 2:00–4:00 P.M. and 6:00–8:00 P.M. at the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359. (724)499-5181. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Scott A. Blair, III., officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park, 1003 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
